About Finding Armonía
Get to Know Hannia
As a bilingual and bicultural therapist, I’m passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families find greater harmony, clarity, and connection in their lives. My work is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and collaboration—creating space for clients to explore what’s keeping them stuck and begin building meaningful, lasting change.
I believe therapy is not only about understanding, but also about transformation—coming home to yourself and your relationships with renewed perspective and hope.
Self-pay only. I am not taking insurance at this time.
My professional formation includes undergraduate studies in Psychology and graduate training in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Drama Therapy.
The North American Association for Drama Therapy defines this approach as “the intentional use of drama and/or theater processes to achieve therapeutic goals.” Drama therapy is an embodied, experiential practice that allows clients to express feelings, explore identity, and gain new insight through storytelling, role play, and creative expression. This work helps people access emotional truths that might not surface through words alone.
Over the years, my career has taken me across diverse settings—from child protection services in Costa Rica to day treatment programs in Colorado, hospital-based work with children facing chronic illness in California, and therapy with older adults. I’ve worked extensively with immigrants, women, and families navigating major life transitions, and I founded a women’s organization in Indiana to support adjustment and belonging in a new culture.
As an immigrant myself, I deeply understand the complexity of transition—between languages, countries, and identities—and bring that empathy and perspective into every session.
My Background
What to Expect
Clients who work with me often describe feeling more grounded, connected, and capable of facing challenges with openness and confidence.
You can expect to:
Communicate more clearly and effectively
Rebuild trust and emotional intimacy
Strengthen problem-solving skills and collaboration
Experience a renewed sense of partnership and purpose
I use an integrative approach tailored to each couple’s or individual’s needs—combining evidence-based frameworks with creative, experiential tools. This blend allows therapy to be both reflective and active, supporting meaningful and lasting change.
Some of the methods I draw from when working with couples include:
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT): Building secure attachment and emotional connection.
The Gottman Method: Strengthening friendship, communication, and conflict resolution.
Narrative Therapy: Helping couples and individuals rewrite their stories with agency and compassion.
Drama Therapy: Using movement, metaphor, and role play to access deeper insight and healing.
